SOAP February 27, 2014

Scripture: As day was about to dawn, Paul urged them all to take some food, saying, “Today is the fourteenth day that you have continued in suspense and without food, having taken nothing. (Acts 27:33 ESV)

Observation: This reminds me so much of the expression "It is always darkest before the dawn".  We may feel like we are going to perish in the storm.  We have lost all control of our boat, everywhere we look, things are destroyed, and we are famished.  God does some of His best work when we are at our most vulnerable.

Application: Faith and trust in God must not only exist during times of plenty, but in times of great adversity also.

Prayer: Daddy, i am a broken vessel, run aground and battered by the sea.  My only cargo worth saving is that which you have done in me.  Salvage what you want of me and let the rest be washed away.  Then give me the strength and courage to let you lead me onward step by step...I am broken.
