Love on a servant at your church today!

1 Thessalonians 5;12-13

12 We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you,13 and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.
There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes in a church family.  There are people who clean bathrooms, make coffee, pick up donuts, vacuum floors, and do all kinds of maintenance to make sure that Sunday morning is a pleasant experience.  There are workers who spend countless hours loving on our children (in spite of their own struggles in life) as an act of worship and servitude.  There are people who silently, yet diligently pray for the needs of those hurting, struggling, or just in need of a touch from God.  There are far too many roles to mention, and yet today's passage from 1st Thessalonians 5 tells us that we are to respect those who labor amongst us and who are over us.
Take a few moments this week to express your thankfulness and love to your fellow laborers in Christ. Let us encourage one another, not so that we are exalted, but that Christ in us is exalted and that the world might see the Saving power of Jesus.  Amen!
