A challenge of passion

First and foremost Happy Easter / Resurrection day!

Today's entry is from John 4;23-26

23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.
In my mind, this passage reads like a "want ad" in a newspaper.  I can see the advertisement now "God of ALL Creation seeks worshipers, applicants must worship in spirit and truth.  Serious inquiries only please."  It is so clear in this passage, it goes back to one of the basic, foundational truths of God...HE WANTS US to WORSHIP HIM in SPIRIT and in TRUTH.  God is not seeking half hearted, fake worship, He wants the real deal.  God knows the heart behind which we worship and if our worship is not whole hearted or is in any way fake HE knows it!  He is God of ALL creation and He is worthy of ALL Praise, Glory, Honor, & Power.  
I'll end tonight with a simple challenge.  Think about the things in your life that you are most passionate about.  Maybe it's sports, politics, movies, tv shows, video games, music, shopping, fashion, and the list goes on and on.  Whatever you identify most with being passionate about, I challenge you to put that level of passion into seeking after and worshipping Jesus.  That is what God is seeking, the question is, will we answer the call?
