Matthew 14;28-32
28 And Peter answered him, Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.29 He said, Come. So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus.30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, Lord, save me.31 Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, O you of little faith, why did you doubt?32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
Today's entry is from Matthew 14. Peter asks Jesus to call him out onto the water. Peter is given what he asks for, yet moments later, he doubts and is sinking into the water and reaching out for Jesus to save him. Jesus reaches out to him immediately, and gets him back to the boat safely, and the wind ceased.
Can you relate to this story? I know I can. How many times has God given you exactly what you asked for, and then you begin to rely on yourself instead of God. Then things start going awry and we cry out for help. We must be continual in our faith, not relying upon ourselves, but relying upon HIM to lead us and walk with us. That is my prayer tonight, that faith would be continual and that we not rely on ourselves. Amen!
