Forgotten

Have you ever wished to unlearn things?  Un-see things?  Un-hear things? Forget things?  Undo things?  Have you ever had nightmares of experiences from your past over and over again and suddenly jerk awake, covered in sweat, relieved that it was a dream...even though it once wasn't?  Have you ever had the thought that the greatest gift you could ever receive would be to just forget everything?

If you answered "yes" to any of the questions above, you are not alone.  With much life comes much knowledge (good & bad), and with much knowledge comes much sorrow.

Ecclesiastes 1;18

18 For in much wisdom is much vexation,
and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.

It was true in Solomon's time, and it is true today.  The more knowledge we have, the greater our sorrow.  We can't unlearn things, un-see things, Un-hear things, forget things, or undo things.  We can however LET THINGS GO.  We can stop holding onto everything in our past...We can LET GO!

When we put our faith in the LORD, He "will not remember your sins."

Isaiah 43;25

25 “I, I am he
who blots out your transgressions for my own sake,
and I will not remember your sins.

This is the best news we can ever get.  While we may not be able, in this life,  to forget our own actions, He paid the price so that our transgressions are blotted out.

The amazing thing is that when you accept Christ into your life, you become a new creation.  Your past is still your past, but God will use some of the worst times in your past to glorify Himself.  It's all part of your story, it's not something to be proud of, but it's a powerful testimony to the changing power of JESUS...and really, it's better that we not forget.
