God has not destined us for wrath

Today's entry comes from 1 Thessalonians 5;9-10

9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,10 who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him.
There are challenging days in this life.  There are days that feel like there is no hope.  There are days when the only thing that seems present is darkness.  There are days when the only thing that seems real is pain, anguish, & suffering.  No matter how challenging the day, not matter how hopeless it may seem, no matter how much darkness there may be, no matter how much pain, anguish, & suffering there is, "God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ".  Without hopelessness, we would know no hope.  Without darkness we would know no light.  Without pain we would know no pleasure.  Without anguish we would know no joy.  Without suffering we would know no contentment.  In all seasons God is perfecting our faith and drawing us to the salvation of Jesus.
Hopelessness, Darkness, Pain, Anguish, Suffering, God's healing power is bigger than all of these things.  He is faithful, He is wonderful, and He longs to know you personally, He stands at the door and knocks...won't you let him in?
I'm praying tonight for all who are down trodden, afflicted, feeling hopeless, darkness, pain, anguish, and sorrow.  I'm praying tonight that you will put your faith in the LORD.  I'm praying tonight that you will open your heart to HIM.  I'm praying that no matter your past, no matter what you feel that you have done that is too much to be forgiven, that you would TRUST in Him tonight and that you would experience the eternal life changing power of Jesus.  Amen!
