SOAP April 5, 2014

Scripture: And he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes and be killed, and after three days rise again. (Mark 8:31 ESV)

Observation: The rejection of Jesus by the "relgious" people of the day points to His desire to eliminate barriers and have a personal relationship with us.  A relationship built on faith, grace, and mercy.

Application: The law of the Old Testament could not be fulfilled by any but Jesus.  Jesus fulfilled that we might be free.  He stands at the door and knocks, and if we open up the door of our heart, we have fellowship with the Most high.  Seek Him earnestly.

Prayer: Daddy, thank You for Jesus.  I pray that I would never be far from You and that You would hide Your word in my heart.  Give me wisdom and discernment.  May You be glorified in all the Earth.  Amen.
