The first step...

But Moses said to God, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?" He said, "But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain." (Exodus 3:11, 12 ESV)

Imagine leaving your homeland in fear for your own life because of your actions and then being told to go to the very people of whom you are afraid to be their deliverer.  Moses was a square peg in a round whole.  He wasn't an Egyptian, nor was he welcome amongst the Egyptians, yet the Israelites viewed him as a murderer.  God appears to be asking Moses to face impossible odds, yet the message is clear "I will be with you".  That is it, that is the essence of God's message in this passage, He is with us.  There is no trial or task that we face in this world that He is not with us.  He wants to send us to do that which we view as impossible.  He wants to bring glory to Himself through our actions of faith, knowing all along that He is with us.  Once we experience God on that level, we want to serve Him all the more, and He is glorified when people see the outcome from such an otherwise malformed tool.  He is with us because apart from Him, we can do nothing.  With this passage in mind, what mountain are you facing today?  What impossible task are you struggling to wrap your head around?  Whatever it is, He is with you, all you need to do is accept that and step forward, He will take care of the rest.
