Possibilities

And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him. (Colossians 2:13-15 ESV)

What comes to your mind when you read "made alive"?  Do you think of Pinocchio, who just wanted to be a real boy and finally became one?  Perhaps you think of Walt Whitman

 "I am of old and young, of the foolish a much as the wise,

Regardless of others, ever regardful of others,
Maternal as well as paternal, a child as well as a man,
Stuffed with the stuff that is coarse, and stuffed with the stuff that is fine,"

Or maybe you think of God giving life to Adam in the Garden of Eden, breathing breath into his nostrils.  

The joy of the above comes from newness of life, from life experience, or possibilities.  There is no appreciation for these things without knowing the bondage of death and sin.  Just like you don't think about water or air until they are in short supply, it is easy to lose sight of such seemingly trivial things, though they are paramount to our survival.  Since the beginning God has been pointing the way, showing us who He is and who we are, and what we deserve...then He nailed it to the cross so that we could live, so that we could be free, so we can have possibilities.  He has overcome it all.

Think of today just as you thought of "made alive", with freshness, newness, and freedom.  Focus on being alive in Christ, He has set us free, rejoice, fear nothing, give praise, worship, give thanks, and above all do it all for His glory!
