I find myself stricken by this passage. Ezra's heart for God, His people, his mourning for the sins of the exiles is tremendously moving. In today's society, we are so nonchalant about sin, we do not respond how Ezra responded. O that our eyes would be open, that we would acknowledge our pride as sin against God, and that we would repent and humble ourselves before God. Praying tonight that brothers and sisters everywhere would come alongside one another, seeking, praying, living out the changing power of Christ and sharing the good news of salvation.
